8 Secrets of Success

Success or the pursuit of it is what drives a lot of people. But, have you ever wondered if there was a secret to success? Is there some trick or some shared quality that sets successful people apart from the rest of the crowd?

Success expert Richard St John interviewed over 500 of the most successful people in the world. In doing so, he has come up with a list of 8 secrets that are essential to success.

He compressed what is normally a two-hour presentation into this highly informative 3 minute TED Talk.

Watch the video here…

It started when Richard was asked by a teen – What leads to success? Feeling bad because he was not able to answer the question, he decided to ask some of the most successful people in the world the very same question.

So, 7 years 500 interviews later here is what he came up with.

1. Passion

They say, ‘Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.’ The same goes for success, you need to follow your passion.

Freeman Thomas, says “I’m driven by my passion”. Do it for love they don’t do it for money. Carol Coletta says, “I would pay someone to do what I do”.

The interesting thing is if you do it for love the money comes anyway.

2. Work

You need to work hard if you wish to succeed. No one ever did well by taking the easy route.

St. John said that Rupert Murdoch told him that “It’s all hard work nothing comes easily, but I have a lot of fun.”

“Fun” may not be something readily equated hard work, but it’s true. Successful people have fund doing the hard work.

3. Good

In order to be successful, you have to be good at what you do.

Alex Garden says, “To be successful put your nose down in something and get damn good at it.”

There is no magic to becoming good at what you do. It all goes back to hard work and practice.

4. Focus

Norman Jewison said, “I think it all has to do with focusing yourself on one thing.”

You will never be successful if you have too many things on your plate. Decide what you want to do, figure out how you want to do it and focus on getting it done.

Achieving success is hard enough without you trying to achieve multiple goals at once. Do yourself a favor and focus on just one or two.

5. Push

David Gallo says, “Push yourself physically and mentally.” You’ve got a push, push, push. You got to push through shyness and self-doubt.

It’s not always easy to push yourself. There will be times when motivation is hard to come by, but don’t let that stop you.

6. Serve

Serving and giving back is important. In his talk, St John said, “Now a lot of kids tell me they want to be millionaires. The first thing I say to them it’s okay well you can’t serve yourself. You got to serve others or something of value because that’s the way people really get rich.”

Service makes you feel that you are part of something greater than yourself. It will help motivate you to be better at what you do. Giving and serving helps pave the way to your own success.

7. Ideas

Keep those ideas coming! Not every idea may be a good one, but never stop having them.

Bill Gates had the idea of building the first microcomputer software company. He acted on it and it has undoubtedly brought him immense success.

Richard says, “There’s no magic to creativity and coming up with ideas.” It’s true. You don’t have to force yourself to get great ideas, but if a good one comes your way, act on it.

8. Persist

Joe Krause says, “Persistence is the number one reason for our success”.

You got to persist to a failure you got to persist through CRAP which of course means:

C – Criticism
R – Rejection
A – Assholes
P – Pressure

Persist through all these and you are surely going to find success.

There you have it. Richard St John’s 8 Secrets to success. If you want to be successful, try these 8 out.

How To Make Every Day Your Perfect Day By Raising Your Vibration

Brainwave entrainment

It is one thing that a few people swear it works, a few people think it’s B.S. and most, do not understand.

If you’re amongst those that have heard about this before but don’t know what it is or how it works, I don’t blame you. Google this and you’ll get a complicated scientific explanation.

You’ll learn about frequencies and brainwaves and how the brain works and many other things that make your head spin. I’m surprised that you aren’t required to have a PhD to learn about brainwave entrainment, because honestly, it feels that complicated sometimes and I’m one person who knows how to do this right.

So instead of giving you another complex definition of this, with theta and gamma states, I’ll ask you a basic question.

Have you ever had moments in your life when you felt like you “attracted” good luck?

You know what I’m talking about? You walk down the street and you feel people love you. They smile at you, nod at you and you feel connected to those around you.

You go to work and your boss is actually agreeable and amazing to work with. If only he’d be like this each day, you’d love your job. You meet with your friends and they’re so kind and friendly and you feel so supported.

Or maybe you even attract some amazing things in your life. You end up meeting an amazing person who becomes your significant other. Or some large sum of money comes from nowhere and you have no idea how this happened.

Did this ever happened to you?

Chances are that it did.

It happened to all of us. We all have rare moments when everything seems to just work fine. In those moments, the universe falls into order and you get exactly what you want.

After so many good things happened to you, you end up scratching your head and you ask yourself two questions…

“How the hell all of this happened after everything in my life was a frustrating mess for so long?”

And…

“How can I make this happen again?”

The answer to both questions is simple. You were operating on a higher vibration level. You were in sync with the world around you and because of this; you were attracting all that’s good and joyful.

It’s nothing random. Maybe you, as a person, you looked and acted exactly the same. But your energy, the rate at which the particles your body vibrated were very different. They were at an optimal rate and because of this, instead of encountering frustration and pain and loss as we usually do, you attracted love and wealth and success.

It’s as simple as that.

Call it however you want, but when you’re on a low frequency, you are disconnected by those around you. You are disconnected to your world. You’re like a piece of an engine that is not fit anymore. It causes friction. It hurts more than it helps.

When you’re on a high vibration, high frequency, you’re like a well tuned, well-maintained engine and everything comes to you effortless. Life works. And yes, maybe modern science can’t explain this but it’s true because we are all experiencing it.

Everyone from average people to CEOs experienced periods in their life where everything fell in place where they attracted everything they ever wanted. And just like you, they’ve asked themselves how the heck all of this happened and what they could do for this to happen again.

So where does brainwave entrainment comes into play?

It’s a tool.

It’s a tool we’re so lucky to know about because it allows your brain to adapt and operate on that higher vibration level. Brainwave syncing are for the human brain what a Formula 1 pit crew is for a high performance car.

It takes even the worse out of sync brain, the one that’s operating on a very low frequency and constantly attracts pain and suffering and makes it work. It brings focus and energy and passion and increases the vibration of the user to the level where his life changes completely.

It’s so effective that some people call it “smart drugs for the brains” or “the best self-development tool that was ever created”. And I believe they’re right. I have noticed better results by using brainwave entrainment than anything else. Better than reading, better than journaling, better than meditation, even better than paying high priced energy healers.

This is how brainwave entrainment helps you.

Behind all those fancy terms, behind all those scientific explanations that almost nobody understands, brainwave entrainment work because it raises your vibrations. They help your brain work better. They put you in sync with the universe. And they help you act at your best, attracting the right people and circumstances in your life.

I mean, just imagine how your life would be if every day you’d be at your best. If every day you’d have that rare energy and focus and passion that attracts the right people and circumstances in your life. If each day, instead of pain and problems and obstacles, you’d be showered with good fortune.

Imagine how you’d feel if you could manifest your most precious goal in the next 24 hours. You could attract the person you love or attract money in your life or maybe get that opportunity to advance at work.

And now, picture a life where this happens each day, day in and day out, where good fortune is not some rare event that happens twice a year but a daily occurrence.

Do you want to do this?

Then I have exactly what you need.

I have created an unique program designed to bring your brain to the higher frequencies we’ve discussed. It’s plug and play. You need not do any homework with this. You need not research what different frequencies do or how to use them properly.

You just play them at night or when you’re resting and it will slowly adapt and tweak your brain for the higher vibrations you want. It’s like vitamin C. You listen to it and things get better but while vitamin C will prevent you from getting colds and will improve your immune system, what I have for you will help you manifest money, love, power or anything else that’s of importance to you.

So here’s the deal.

I call this program “Manifestation Magic”.

It’s the only program, as far as I know, that is especially designed to help you manifest what you desire in your life. Most brainwave entrainment programs are designed to just help you focus better or maybe to have more mental power.

This is admirable but I don’t want you to do math faster in your head. I don’t want you to be more productive. This is good but it will still take you years to get what you want.

I want you to manifest the life you desire.

I want you to attract, today, the love, the success, the wealth, the prosperity that’s rightfully yours.

You don’t have to read anything.

You don’t have to study.

You don’t have to actively participate in this.

You need to use it and to let the power of brainwave syncing tweak your brain and bring it on a higher level of vibration. You download it, put it on your phone and tonight, before you go to sleep, play it.

You need not do anything special.

Put your headsets on, listen and let it change it. Then soon you’ll see how things are different in your life. How people are more receptive. How opportunities you’ve never thought about show from nowhere. How everything feels right and you know this is “your day”.

And with the help of “Manifestation Magic”, every day will be your day.

What a Healthy Relationship Looks Like

Trying to have a healthy relationship with the person you love can be frustrating if you've never had an example to guide you.

For example, if you've come from a home where your parents didn't have a healthy relationship, you have no example to go by ... so how can you ever have the chance at creating a healthy relationship?

If you're curious about this, here are a few key points of a healthy relationship which were gathered from interviews with people who had been married for 30 years or more.

Learn How To Unleash Your Most Awesome Self - CLICK HERE

#1. Open Communication

Great relationships always have open communication where each person feels safe to express what they're thinking or feeling without fear of being judged by the other person.

The communication is consistent and both parties are always committed to understanding the other person and working on synergistic solutions to problems.

#2. Friendship

Attraction and chemistry are great, but they come and go. The beauty of friendship is that it persists even when things aren't going well.

A friend is someone whom you can count on to be there when things don't make sense, and whom you can laugh with and even be a bit of a kid with.

When you see a healthy couple together, you'll notice that they behave the way that friends would, while having the component of love and romance as well.

#3. Transparency

Since healthy relationships allow people to be themselves and to communicate without fear of judgment, the partners are completely transparent with one another.

This means that they're both free to be who they are without fear of "not being good enough" or of being judged by one another.

Transparency also means that each partner is open and genuine about their needs, their dreams, their fears, their desires and their concerns.

#4. Trust

The most important difference between a healthy relationship and an unhealthy one is that healthy
relationships are rich with trust, and unhealthy ones are almost completely devoid of trust.

Trust is what makes it possible for open communication, transparency and friendship to work.

Trust cultivates safety and understanding, which provides a healthy environment for each person to be themselves and to give AND receive genuine love.

#5.Graciousness

People who have healthy relationships are playful with one another and have a lot of fun when they are together.

Laughter is one of the greatest blessings of life, and it's a wonderful thing to be able to share with the person whom you are with.

It makes it easier to get through difficult times and it makes the good times even greater.

All of these things are made possible because of the final characteristic of healthy relationships:

#6. Common Values

A romantic relationship (especially a marriage) requires you to have values in common with your partner.

This means that your priorities and your moral compasses are in harmony and that you make important decisions according to the same criteria.

Without common values, couples will not be in agreement over how they should parent their children, manage money or make the most important decisions about their future.

With common values, though, you can plan for the future and manage your relationship according to the desire to achieve the same goals and to fight the same battles as allies instead of opponents.

So now that you know what to look for, the most important thing for you to do is work on becoming the kind of person YOU must become in order to have a partner who will help you to build a healthy relationship.

The Power of Affirmations: How to Talk to Yourself

Have you ever considered just how important your self-talk really is when it comes to your personal growth and self-confidence?

If not, just imagine what kind of influence your friends have on you when they talk to you ... or how much your parents had when you were growing up.

Now imagine this: You're around yourself more often than anyone else on this planet. That ought to give you an idea of just how important it is to use empowering words when you speak to yourself.

This takes practice, though, and if you aren't really choosing your self-talk, you've probably developed some bad habits.

The following "affirmation workout" will help you to undo these habits and form empowering and inspiring self-talk.

First, a Basic Rule

As you begin to study the psychology of affirmations, the idea of monitoring your thoughts and internal dialogue can seem overwhelming.

There's a lot to remember: keep things affirmative, avoid negative thoughts, focus on what you want instead of what you don't want ... how in the world can you remember all those things?

Well, the good news is that you don't have to. All you have to do is follow the "Reverse Golden Rule"--when it comes to the way you speak to yourself, "Do unto yourself as you would have others do to you."

In other words, as you're listening to your self-talk, ask yourself: "Would I want to be around someone 24-7 if they talked to me this way?" If not, "How would I prefer them to talk to me?"

These two questions will help you to immediately redirect your self-talk without having to remember a lot of details about what to say and what not to say.

Five Principles of Positive Affirmation

Now that you have a basic idea of how to monitor your self-talk, let's look at five principles for building your daily affirmation exercises:

1. Action-based

The best affirmations are those that suggest specific actions instead of just wishes like "I want to be more confident."

Ask yourself what you would actually be doing if you were more confident, and use those verbs to build your affirmation. For example:

"I approach strangers with grace and enthusiasm."

2. Identity-based

Whenever possible, focus your affirmations more on changing your identity than on achieving goals.

Yes, you want to achieve your goals as well, but always ask yourself what kind of a person you need to become in order to achieve your goal and build your affirmations around that.

3. Affirmative

Instead of making your affirmations about what you want to stop doing, what you want to lose or what you don't want, make them about what you do want.

Whenever possible, use words like can, will, want, gain and am instead of words like can't, won't, don't, lose, stop and quit.

This will encourage you to focus on the result that you want instead of the results you want to avoid.

4. Specific

Your subconscious mind does not respond to vague requests and commands, so it's important for you to be specific in your affirmations.

This is another reason why action-based affirmations are more effective. They give you something specific to focus on, which stating wishes like "I am confident and assertive" or "I am wealthy and financially secure" does not.

TIP: Ask yourself exactly what you want to accomplish, determine what you have to do to accomplish it and build your affirmations around those specific answers.

5. Practice

The most common reason why people fail in using positive affirmations is that they don't practice them on a consistent, daily basis.

You'll never be in a position in your life when you can stop training your mind to think proactively and positively. There are simply too many opportunities for you to take on negative thinking habits.

Make a consistent daily practice of affirmations and always remember that personal growth and self-improvement is a lifetime commitment.

You can easily make your own mind movie that will give you powerful visual affirmations daily.

4 Surprising Things That Are Holding You Back From Wealth

Guest Blogger: Dr. Steve G. Jones
Creator of Total Money Magnetism

Does it sometimes feel like other people in your life just have it easy?

You see them getting great jobs and promotions, earning big money, or not having to work hard for what they get… while you are constantly STRUGGLING?

Do you sometimes think to yourself…

‘Why can’t I have what THEY have? Is there something I should have done differently?’

Well, let me tell you right now it’s not that they’re ‘better than you’.

It’s not that they’re smarter than you, luckier than you, or they deserve it more.

As a hypnotherapist and self-made millionaire, I see clients every day who are struggling with one (or more) of 4 things which make it almost impossible to get the wealth and the life you want. Here’s #1…

#1: Fear of failure

‘But what if I FAIL?’ ‘What if I’m not GOOD enough?’ ‘What will I LOSE?’

‘What will people think of me?’

We are creatures of habit, and our subconscious minds are great at keeping us in the same routines or behavior patterns.

Why?

Because there is a certain safety about doing the same things we’ve done before.

Basically, it’s a survival mechanism, which causes us to feel nervous, uncomfortable, or fearful when we even think about doing something different.

And this goes double when it comes to big things like making a career change, starting a business, or moving somewhere new.

We fear what will happen if we FAIL, and our minds are great at coming up with all sorts of inventive negative scenarios.

But the important thing to remember is: If you continue to do exactly the same things, you will continue to get exactly the same results.

Creating wealth doesn’t have to be ‘hard’. But it does involve stepping out of your comfort zone.

#2: Fear of success

‘But what will happen if I get rich?’ ‘What will happen if I get that promotion?’ ‘What will happen if I buy that bigger house?’

‘Will people treat me differently?’

‘Will I become someone ELSE?’

Yes, fear of success is also a very real thing.

Again, this comes down to our natural resistance to change.

For instance, although you may WANT to land that dream job, there is a tiny part of your mind that is stressing out about what will come with that new job…

…a new office, new responsibilities, new people to report to and higher expectations.

And, underneath it all, you may not feel that you are truly deserving of achieving this kind of success and becoming wealthy, especially if others in your life are struggling.

When in actual fact, you are just as worthy and deserving as anyone else!

#3: You’re suffering from the toxic cash-repelling ‘Scarcity Virus’…

‘I’m just not that lucky’ ‘I don’t have what it takes’ ‘There isn’t enough money to go around’

If you’re frustrated with where things are at in your life and feeling helpless about your finances right now, chances are you are suffering from the toxic, cash-repelling ‘Scarcity Virus’.

Basically, you have some serious inner hang-ups about money and what it means to be rich… and whether you actually have what it takes to BE rich.

In fact, majority of the population suffer from this same problem.

You might think you’d love to be wealthy, land that dream job, or live that luxurious lifestyle, but inside your mind is telling you something different.

Because on some level, you’ve learned that “money is BAD”. Or, that you’re not “good enough” to ever be rich.

Maybe you or your family have struggled with money in the past, and therefore you’ve come to associate wealth with feelings like fear, jealously, or resentment.

And even as an adult, these feelings have remained rooted within you and can be extremely hard to shake.

#4: You’ve been following the wrong footsteps all along

‘But my father told me that getting rich is about hard work and saving’ ‘The more hours I work, the closer I’ll get to success’

The fourth crucial thing I see holding people back from wealth is that they have been listening to advice from the wrong people their whole lives.

Instead of looking for successful mentors who can teach them the real steps to success, they follow the guidance of people who may actually be struggling themselves.

For instance, parents, siblings, or friends who provide well-meaning yet unhelpful comments such as, “You just have to work HARDER”.

As I can personally testify to, building your income really isn’t about working double the number of hours and putting in double the effort.

It’s about tuning your mind into what really WORKS.

Why You're Not Getting What You Want In Life (And What to Do About It!)

Guest Blogger: Heather Mathews
Author of Manifestation Miracle

“How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I'm committed to?” ― Anthony Robbins

Have you ever caught yourself making a bunch of excuses?

It’s always the same cycle: you come up with a life-changing idea…

…imagine what it would be like when you make it happen…

…then put up a wall of reasons why it can’t be done.

Tell me if the following sounds familiar:

“If I only had more time, I could learn how to speak Italian.”

“I'd get off the couch and go to the gym, but I'm just not feeling it today.”

“I’ll get around to writing that book after my schedule clears up. I’ve just been so busy lately!”

Mel Robbins, a motivational speaker, author and CNN commentator, knows this habit all too well.

After her husband’s restaurant business failed, her career floundered, and their savings dried up, she was stuck in a bad place.

And as she tried to take action and do something about her situation, that voice inside her wanted to stop her every step of the way.

But she realized that she couldn't make those changes because a part of her brain refused to.

Mel has done some research on this phenomenon, and science shows that the human mind protects a person from anything unfamiliar or uncomfortable.

That includes any attempt to break out of your situation. To your brain, any kind of change is threatening.

So if you’ve ever felt stuck in your life, or find yourself firing off a bunch of excuses to “protect” yourself from trying something new – you have your mind to thank for that.

And it manifests in ways that you don’t realize. We’re so ingrained in our mental habits sometimes that we don’t notice how we’re silently undermining ourselves.

So a little self-awareness is in order, don’t you think?

I want to bring to light some of the biggest reasons why you’re not pushing things to the next level.

I hope that once you can see these self-sabotaging habits for what they are, you'll step up and do something about it.

Here are the 5 Reasons Why You’re Getting in the Way of Your Own Success:

#1: You’re Running Away From Your Goals

It's a common problem for people not to have a clear course of action in their lives. They might have some big, nebulous goal in their head, but they're not breaking it down enough to make it doable.

They have this tendency to talk themselves out of trying because “it can’t be done.” They see their dreams as this mountain of a task they can’t even begin to take on.

To them, it’s just so massive and intimidating that it’s not even worth putting any energy into it. They content themselves with just thinking about the what-ifs instead of spending time on the how-tos.

But if they made the first step to break down those goals into smaller, manageable chunks…

…they’ll find that working on their dreams isn’t as hard as they thought.

At the heart of it, your goals are nothing more than a bunch of smaller tasks that you need to do every day, every week, and every month.

And most of them are pretty boring when you think about it. But put together, they add up to something huge.

So write down your goals, and keep it somewhere you can go through every day. Start with the major ones first, then break them down into smaller sub-goals underneath each of those.

Remember, unless you face the reality of making your dreams happen…

…you’ll be no closer to your goals than when you first thought of them.

#2: You Lack Vision

Aside from a lot of folks not having a clear set of goals, they don’t even have a sense of purpose to begin with. They’re drifting aimlessly in life, not really sure which direction they should take.

In the back of their minds, they’re thinking, “Me? Accomplish that big, scary thing and make a ton of money?”

“I’m fine making $25,000 a year, thanks. I don’t want to disappoint myself if I end up not doing it.”

But like I said, that’s just the fear talking. If you want to lose that feeling, you need to replace it with a positive one instead - like excitement for instance.

And to do that, why not get EXCITED about your dream scenario?

Visualization is helpful, but you need to paint a crystal-clear picture to get the FULL effect.

The first step is to think about what you want to happen, like putting up an Internet café or a yoga studio.

Ask yourself, "Why is this goal important to me, anyway? How do my values tie into all of this?"

Get to the core of it: Maybe you want to create more jobs in your community or teach people how to clear their minds and relax.

And what would it be like when you’ve accomplished your goals? Who would be the people around you, and what would they say?

How would it feel making those dreams happen?

Get as specific as you can and add as many details as you want. Once you've painted this vivid image in your head, you're already bridging the gap between thought and reality.

By setting your mental goalposts, it can give you the drive to take ACTION and start manifesting those desires into the real world.

#3: You Don’t Believe

Most people make the mistake of believing in something AFTER the fact. But the most successful people in the world do it the other way around.

As you’ve learned from the last point, you need to get excited about a vision before you can start working on it.

And the reason for doing this is to plant the BELIEF that it can happen in the first place.

Without it, you can’t create the space for that desired reality to exist.

So as counterintuitive as it sounds, you’ll have to believe in something before it can manifest itself in the real world.

But it’s not just a matter of telling yourself, “Ok, I believe I can earn enough from my side hustle to quit my full-time job.” The Universe won’t hear weak statements like that.

Instead, try using affirmations to empower yourself. These are declarations you can say out loud (or in your mind) to reinforce the reality you want.

When you repeat it enough times, you’ll cement those things you want to be in your subconscious.

Then you can start working on those goals you wrote down with a newfound sense of rock-solid confidence.

However, it’s crucial that you phrase these affirmations correctly. Pick a bunch of goals you want to accomplish, and act as if it’s happening in the PRESENT.

That way, you can start moving in that direction and make it happen.

Click Here To Discover the Lazy Person's Secret To Get Everything You've Ever Wished For

For example, it’s not really useful to say, "One day, I'll become rich and be able to provide for my family."

Instead, you can rephrase that into a more powerful statement such as this:

"I am wealthy, and my life is filled with abundance every day. I use my wealth to provide for my family."

By acting like it's happening now, you're giving yourself something to aim for. As I said, belief comes before reality.

To get started, try spending 5-10 minutes on this every day (e.g., first thing in the morning or before bedtime work best). Soon enough, you’ll feel a change in how you go about your day.

#4: You Don’t Have a Plan B

As much as we’d like to live in a perfect world, the best plans can take a wrong turn.

Sometimes, the outcome you had in mind doesn’t align with reality. In cases like those, you need to know how to respond.

People often blame others or hit the panic button as a knee-jerk reaction. The better approach is to take control of at least some part of the situation, so it doesn't completely go down the drain.

I’ve found that you'll end up avoiding a disaster altogether with this one step.

It helps to have a contingency in place on the off-chance that something goes off the rails. You can plan ahead for potential problems, so you know what to do when the moment calls for it.

More importantly, you need to find the opportunity to grow even in the most challenging situations.

Ask yourself, “What part of this problem can I use to my advantage? How can I build on this situation, so I don't fall flat on my face?”

The more you embrace adversity, the better you can turn it on itself and come out on top.

As the Marines say, “Improvise, adapt and overcome.”

#5: You Lack Discipline

Jocko Willink, a former Navy SEAL and author, talks a great deal about this core value.

He says, “(Self-discipline) will take care of you like nothing else can… it’ll put you on that path to strength, health, intelligence and happiness. And most importantly, it’ll put you on that path to freedom.”

To cultivate discipline, it starts by making the decision to stay FOCUSED on your end goals. That’s going to take some sacrifices, such as staying up late, giving up unhealthy habits and resisting the desire to procrastinate.

The moment you get distracted from your goals, you’ll erode your foundation of self-discipline.

Studies show that people who can map out a clear a daily routine are more likely to stick to it. And in effect, that makes them more productive than others.

Like what you did with your goals, write down a schedule you can work with, and do your best to follow it.

FACT: Humans are wired to crave structure and routine.

It's an anchor for our minds, so we don't drift off into a limbo of wasted potential and mediocrity.

And when you get down to it, the reasons you're not making it happen all boil down to one thing.

It’s the voice inside you that says, “Why are you trying to change? Don’t you know how terrifying the great unknown is? Just stay here where it’s safe…”

I’ve dealt with that voice ALL my life, but I’ve found a way to shut it down so it doesn’t get a vote.

6 Steps For Maximum Motivation

Guest Blogger: Heather Mathews
Author of Manifestation Miracle

“Of course motivation is not permanent. But then, neither is bathing; but it is something you should do on a regular basis.” ― Zig Ziglar

Michael, a husband and a father of two and in his early fifties, was a logistics manager at a frozen foods company.

He made enough to provide for his family, and by all accounts, they were doing alright…

… but he knew he could do MORE.

He’d been dreaming of making it out of his job and starting his own business. And on top of that, he wanted to lose weight.

His doctor told him was about 40 pounds overweight, and he needed to trim down. So he set out to get up earlier in the morning to make time for himself and work on his dreams.

He’d get up at 5:30 am to exercise, have a light breakfast and do some research on his business.

For the first month and a half, he stuck to his new routine. It felt empowering; Michael was motivated to get out of bed to get a jump start on his day.

What he didn't expect, however, was that he'd run out of steam. As the weeks went on, Michael felt worn out by the grind.

And little by little, his motivation slowly drained away. Instead of bolting out of bed, he went back to hitting the snooze button to get “five more minutes.”

But it stretched out to an hour, and just like that, he went back to his old ways.

Michael didn’t know what was happening to him.

Why was he so pumped when he started out - only to be so demotivated shortly after?

So, he looked into the topic of motivation to understand what was going on. Michael realized that motivation is a finite resource.

It was up to him to find ways to sustain that drive and keep going. After that, Michael got back on the old horse and gave it another shot.

Michael managed to find a way to deal with the ebb and flow of motivation he felt throughout the week. Whenever he was running on empty, he knew how to fill his tank again.

What Really Drives You?

Motivation can be elusive for a lot of people. As much as we’d like to have that feeling on tap, it just seems to dry up every now and then.

Motivation can make a massive impact on your life. Without it, it’s way harder to accomplish your goals and make your dreams happen.

A study from a network of universities in Spain shows that the neurochemical dopamine plays a crucial role in motivation. Dopamine used to be only associated with positive emotions, but as it turns out, it also affects your desire to get things done.

What happens is that this hormone fires in the brain while anticipating the desired outcome. This, in turn, can motivate a person to make that outcome happen.

In another study, scientists found that rats were more likely to go through obstacles to get to some food if they had higher levels of dopamine.

This shows that the feeling of motivation is something that comes from inside us. However, there are also external factors to consider.

And if you can put these together, you’ll create a healthy cycle. With that, let’s a look at how you can inject more motivation into your life:

#1: Jumpstart Your Dopamine Production

Physical activity is one way you can directly influence your brain chemistry and set the stage for feeling motivated.

Exercise is a great way to trigger the release of feel-good hormones. Aside from dopamine, there's also serotonin, adrenaline, and endorphins that can put you in a state of post-workout bliss.

Don’t underestimate the link between your overall health and mental well-being. These have a direct effect on your level of motivation, so make the time for cardio and other related activities.

But you don’t need to have an elaborate workout routine or splurge on fancy equipment and a gym membership. You can sweat it out on a budget by going on YouTube and making a playlist of basic exercises.

Talking walks is also incredibly beneficial, too. And best of all, you can spend as little as 15-30 minutes a day doing this.

As you keep up this routine, you’ll feel better about yourself and feel motivated to do more. Suddenly, you’ll find the time for longer workouts and start doing other exercises as well.

Try doing it with other activities like watching TV or listening to an inspiring podcast. Also, you can do it during your work breaks to stay energized throughout the day.

Starting with baby steps makes it less overwhelming to get into this habit. Ease yourself into it, and you’re more likely to build traction and stick to it.

#2: Get Inspired

Another way to light that fire inside you is by looking to other people who have the level of success you want. Study their process and the steps they took to get where they are today.

Chances are they have a book, video blog, podcast or some other medium where they teach other people to follow in their footsteps. Reading about their accomplishments and learning their story is an external source of motivation you can internalize.

Research from the American Psychological Association (APA) uncovered a phenomenon where you can create what they call “intrinsic rewards” by observing other people.

When you see someone enjoying what they do, that feeling is almost contagious. So in a way, these people can actually pass their motivation onto YOU.

#3: Get In The Driver’s Seat

Studies also show that the more you feel in control of a task or project, the more motivated you’ll be to see it through. On the contrary, feeling forced to do something drains your energy to get it done.

Most people don’t realize they act like their own boss and crack the whip on themselves. Not only is this approach demoralizing, but it's also incredibly demotivating.

Instead, try this little exercise:

Imagine negotiating with yourself, like a worker would with his or her boss. Discuss the things you need to get done today or this week and figure out what you'd get out of it.

In this dialogue, start off by telling yourself, “Ok, so you need to come up with five business ideas today and choose the best one. Also, you need to do cardio for 15 minutes, either in the morning or afternoon.”

Then you’d say, “Ok, but if I do that, I get to watch an hour of Netflix or catch up on my book… whichever I feel like doing later.”

After you’ve gone back and forth and worked out the terms, you can shake on it and get to work.

By giving yourself options to choose from, you’ll feel more empowered – which, of course, boosts your motivation in the process.

#4: Get Real With Your Goals

Further research from the APA shows that you have a higher chance of getting work done (by up to 90 percent, in fact) by breaking down your big goals into smaller, specific tasks.

By quantifying your goals with a specific metric (e.g., do 30 pushups and 10 burpees in 30 minutes), it feels more concrete and doable. Once you have these mini-goals in place, you can start tackling them one by one.

Write your big goals, then make a list of related tasks under each one. Do this a day in advance (like the night before) so you can hit the ground running first thing in the morning.

Then as you chip away significant chunks from your overall goal, the more motivated you’ll feel.

Every time you accomplish one of these smaller, specific goals, you’ll be rewarded with a small dose of dopamine. This will give you the push you need to keep going until you’ve cleared all of your tasks.

#5: Visualize Your Future

While it's crucial to get motivation from accomplishing your goals, it's also helpful to give yourself a dopamine boost before getting started.

As such, you'll find that it's hugely beneficial to develop the habit of creating a vivid picture of your desired outcome. Spend about 5-10 minutes every day visualizing yourself enjoying your dream life as if it’s happening now.

Like we discussed earlier, rats are more motivated to overcome those obstacles just by anticipating the reward for doing it. In the same way, thinking about the results of your hard work will release neurochemicals that will get you pumped for the task ahead.

Think about what it would FEEL like to finally get your big goals done. Imagine the people in your life congratulating you and complimenting you on your efforts.

When you know exactly what’s waiting for you on the other side, you’ll suddenly lose all the excuses that were holding you back.

#6: Positivity In, Negativity Out

Your beliefs also have a great deal to do with being motivated. Perception is a dominant force, and it can dictate the very course of your life.

Aside from visualizing the outcome, giving yourself the right beliefs is also an effective way to design your reality.

Affirmations are an excellent way to do this. These are statements you can repeat to yourself so you can rewire your belief system.

A lot of people operate on destructive beliefs because of bad experiences from the past. As a result, they go around carrying labels like "loser," "hopeless case" and "damaged."

Going through life with this kind of baggage won’t just destroy your motivation…

… but undermine everything you do every step of the way.

That’s why you need to rewrite that story in your head by using powerful statements.

Here’s how to get started:

Think about the qualities you have that will help you accomplish your goals. Also, think about the things you’re grateful for.

Use these thoughts as the basis of your affirmations. These will remind you that you have what it takes to break past your limitations.

As with visualizing, pretend that it’s happening at the PRESENT moment – and not at some point in the future.

That way, you’ll feel empowered from knowing that you’re living that great truth here and NOW.

Here are some examples of affirmations you can use:

- Every day, I am getting stronger, smarter and healthier.
- I am a strong person who can deal with every obstacle and challenge that I encounter.
- My life is filled with infinite opportunities to succeed, and I make the most of them every day.
- I am surrounded by people who love and support me, and they want me to succeed.

Feel free to use affirmations or create your own. The more detailed, the better.

It’s more effective when you say these affirmations (either out loud or in your mind) right after doing your visualization exercises. You can do them right before going to bed or make it part of your morning ritual.

All of these habits have helped me plug the leaks in my “motivation tank.” If I’m feeling a bit jaded, fatigued or burnt out, I make sure I’m doing each of these steps enough so I don’t run on empty.

On top of staying motivated, however, there's one more habit that got me out of my own funk.

You see, like Michael, there was a time where I couldn’t overcome that inertia I felt. I was successful and fulfilled on the outside, but people around me didn’t know I felt burned out and desperate.

I started to feel like an impostor… until I accidentally came across a life-changing secret.

By making a small but powerful change in my mindset, I suddenly found the power to become the most authentic version of myself.

And more importantly, I could attract every opportunity without working 80 hours a week. Just like that, all sorts of blessings flowed into my life effortlessly.

Prosperity Done Right

Guest Blogger: Amanda Ross

Some people feel selfish when they pray for prosperity. All too often, that stops them. But guilt doesn’t need to get in the way of prosperity.

Consider this:

Have you ever flown on an airplane? If you have, then you’ll remember a stewardess standing up front demonstrating the safety features of the airplane.

One of those features is an oxygen mask that drops down if the cabin experiences a drop in air pressure. Flying at 30,000 feet or higher means the air outside is pretty thin—too thin for breathing.

The rule is for adults to put on their own mask first, and then to assist children—not the other way around.

The reason is simple. You can’t help the child or yourself if you black out first.

When you look at prosperity as a responsibility in helping others, then guilt doesn’t even come close.

If your attitude is one of using prosperity to help others but also taking responsibility for your own body and family, then selfishness doesn’t come into play.

It’s all in the attitude.

Some in the “Law of Attraction” community make excuses for or even celebrate selfishness. They’re doing it all wrong.

Selfishness is bad. And selfishness is one of the ingredients that get in the way of prayer done right. Taking care of your own self can be a good thing; it all depends on motivation.

A wise man said 2,000 years ago that a rich man has little chance of getting into heaven. He didn’t say it was impossible. Again, it’s all in the attitude.

When you have the power of prayer, you don’t need to worry ever again. God has infinite abundance and is delighted to share...

...But this means that you need to be equally happy to share. I know, I know. This doesn’t sound easy.

It takes practice. But once you get the hang of it, prosperity flows through you from an infinite source.

You never have to be worried again.

Have you ever experienced a time when your life went smoothly and everything seemed to go right?

Okay, now consider this: Have you ever experienced a time when just about everything wrong happened and nothing went right?

Amazingly, I found out that both of these are caused by the same thing.

The 7 Day Prayer Miracle showed me how to control the source of these two outcomes so I could choose the right outcome for me.

Well, yeah, naturally, I want things to go smoothly all the time. And though I haven’t gotten there, yet, I’ve already noticed a huge improvement.

Lots of little things and several really big ones have made my life a dream come true.

It all has to do with the feeling with which you live life.

Some people live life with worry and wonder why things are so difficult all the time. The feeling is the prayer!

Once you have the right feeling, everything seems to go perfectly right. Cultivate having that feeling all the time and life suddenly becomes perfect, virtually all the time.

If you’ve ever been to a business or mentoring seminar, you’ve likely learned about goal setting.

The proper way to write a goal is as if the goal has already been accomplished. Did you ever wonder why?

It’s because of the feeling you get by saying the goal is the feeling that tends to activate the manifestation of the goal.

The wording of the goal triggers an actual prayer.

When I understood this one gem, I was sold on the 7 Day Prayer Miracle. It’s like, golly! Who wouldn’t be?

Are You Ready for a Life Full of Abundance?

Then, I have exactly what you need.

Some mentors will caution you to write down reasonable goals. This may be good for your 1-year, 5-year or 10-year plan, but not for your life goals.

There, you want to make them as big as you can possibly dream. Don’t hide your lamp under a bushel. Go the whole distance. If you don’t go for it, who will?

Say for a moment, you dream of being the world’s first multi-quadrillionaire.

I know we don’t yet have even one trillionaire—a thousand times a billion.

But there’s nothing wrong with shooting for a really big goal.

Some might quibble and say that it’s impossible. There simply isn’t that much money on the planet.

In fact, a study was done to calculate the value of all the property on Earth and it came to 5 quadrillion dollars (5,000 times a trillion).

When you have the right attitude, you come up with solutions instead of problems.

One possible solution to this supposed problem is to increase the prosperity of virtually everyone on the planet. You could do that with education and entrepreneurial zeal.

Currently, there are over 1,200 billionaires on Earth. Now, imagine 1,200 entrepreneurial billionaires in Africa alone, with 1,200 trillionaires in the world.

That’s one big step closer to that goal and only half a step away from being the world’s first multi-quadrillionaire.

Big goals fire the imagination. They get us to pray deeply.

And when we have all the ingredients of effective prayer, we’re tapping into the source of all prosperity in the universe.
